Why Astro?
After building my site with Nuxt 3, I realized that I needed something more focused on content and performance. Astro’s partial hydration and content collections approach aligned perfectly with my goals for a blazing-fast personal site.
The Migration Process
The migration involved several key steps:
- Preserving Critical Assets - Keeping deployment configs, scripts, and utilities
- Clean Slate - Starting fresh with Astro’s latest version (5.15.7)
- Modern Stack - Integrating TailwindCSS v4 and Cloudflare adapter
- Content Collections - Setting up type-safe content management
What’s Next?
With the foundation in place, I’m excited to build out:
- Contact form with Cloudflare Email Workers
- KV-based analytics and view counter
- AI-powered features (summarization, related posts, chatbot)
- Beautiful, performant UI
